how to get there - step by step
booking flights
The wedding will be in Envigado, Antioquia, Colombia. A city south of Medellin. Very close to El Poblado, which is where we recommend our guest to find their hotels/Airbnb.
In order to get to El Poblado, we recommend you fly into the following airport: Jose Maria Cordova International Airport.
transporting from the airport to el poblado
The airport is located in the city of Rionegro, 45 minutes away from El Poblado. It can be difficult to secure a taxi or Uber after certain hours of the day; but we have many other options to offer you.
Book with a private company we are recommending. Be sure to book with ample time so that you don’t miss out on availability. Traveling in a group might also be a great option if you know of friends who will be traveling around the same time. (they have transportation for all group sizes).
Renting a car. If you are flying in late, please make sure that the Car company office hours are open 24 hours at the airport. Most close and you will not be able to pickup your car after certain hours of the night. Everything is walking distance in El Poblado, the company that is offering the activities comes with transportation included.
Ubers are available but can become difficult to secure after certain hours of the night. Consider this option only if your flight is arriving during the day. Compare prices with private companies with fixed rates.
A cheaper option if you are traveling alone is to take the bus that passes by every 15 minutes. Tickets cost 8k-15k pesos COP ($1-$3 USD) Available 24hrs. This bus has multiple stops, request to be dropped off in the San Diego stop in Medellin. Many taxis are waiting here in the San Diego stop; and you can take a taxi from here to your hotel. If you know your way around Colombia or are traveling with a native, this is a great option. If not, we recommend the other options.
transporting from el poblado to the wedding venue
We will have a bus take all our guests to the wedding. This bus will be waiting for you at the Medellin Marriott (where the bride and groom will be staying) at 3 pm and will be leaving at 3:15 pm (hotel may change at any point- please revisit the website one week prior).
transporting from the wedding venue back to el poblado
Multiple shuttles will be traveling back to the Medellin Marriott Hotel during the whole night starting at 10 pm. From the hotel you can take an Uber back to your hotel in the case of not staying at the Marriott. The Marriott is close distance to all the hotels recommended.
Last shuttle leaves the wedding venue at 2 am.
transporting from el poblado back to the airport
We recommend booking with the same private transportation company. Book it weeks or months prior so that you don’t miss out on availability. Traveling in a group might also be a great option if you know many friend will be traveling to (they have transportation for all group sizes).
Uber.
Car, if you rented.
